AmeriCorps School Engagement Specialist within MUSD

Are you looking for a way to make a difference in the lives of students while gaining valuable professional experience? Americorps is seeking a dedicated and community-minded individual to serve as an AmeriCorps School Engagement Specialist during the 2026-27 school year. This full-time service opportunity places volunteers at one an MUSD K-8 schools

As a specialist, you will support classroom instruction, serve as a guest teacher, and lead vital community-building activities like extracurricular activities and family engagement events. By guiding students through daily transitions and mentoring them in subjects like mathematics and STEM, you will play a direct role in improving student attendance and supporting our hardworking teachers.

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident
• Hold a Bachelor's degree in any field or be graduating before the start of service in August 2026. Ongoing training will be provided.

Compensation

• Living stipend: $35,200
• Education award: $7,395
